Hundreds of people attended the Chesham World Food Tasting event, with many leaving wanting more.
Taking place on Saturday, February 10, many authentic dishes from both South and Far East Asia, the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, mainland Europe, Africa and the Caribbean, were on show for everyone who attended.
One table, specifically for Ukrainian dishes, was generously hosted by the Hilltop Ukrainian Community Group.
The event was mainly organised by local Liberal Democrats, whilst many local businesses sponsored the occasion.
With generous donations to the diverse array of raffle prizes, the profits from a raffle and auctioning of a book raised a substantial sum, which will be given to World Central Kitchen, a charity dedicated to providing meals to those living in crisis, around the world.
Councillor Rachel Dineley, Diversity Officer for Chesham & Amersham Liberal Democrats commented: "This project has been a labour of love, on the part of numerous individuals.
“We're delighted by the impressive community turnout and everyone’s evident enjoyment of the event. It was a collaborative endeavour, filled with camaraderie and culinary delights. A lot of fun, and a treat for the tastebuds."
Councillor Parveiz Aslam, MBE, added: "We're thrilled to have hosted such a well-received event, raising substantial funds for a noble cause.
“It fostered a wonderful sense of community, and there's already eager anticipation for a repeat next year."
