Primark to open next month
HIGH Wycombe's new Primark store will open for business next month, it was confirmed today.
The budget clothing chain will replace the former M&S store in the Chilterns shopping centre.
Bill Pollard, manager of the Chilterns, confirmed today the opening date for the new two-storey Primark would be Friday, October 3.
It was previously hoped shoppers would be able to get their hands on the store's cut price bargains at the end of this month, but Mr Pollard said the fitters had been on a tight schedule and had still managed an "unbelievable amount of work".
The unit, which has entrances inside the Chilterns and off Church Street, has sat empty since M&S moved to the Eden shopping centre in March.
Mr Pollard said: "It really is an exciting time. I was out in town on Friday for a meeting and I got stopped five times between here and the council, and I lost count of poeple coming back stopping me saying 'how's it doing, when is it going to open?'
"It's just unbelievable the amount of interest it's creating. It's good for this part of the town for sure."

Hooray! I need more socks and t-shirts, and I refuse to pay more than a few quid for them.
The problem is, everyone is going to know where I get my clothes from now!
But at least I don't have to go all the way to Reading any more.
