Blast from the past for pupils
 |
| Charlie with friends and the Routemaster |
FEW teenagers take public transport to their prom nights - but for one Hazlemere school girl that is exactly what she has done.
Charlie Jones, 16, arranged for all of her school friends to take a 1945 Thames Valley routemaster to their end-of-year celebration at Adams Park, High Wycombe, tonight.
The hired bus picked up the excited teenagers in their ball gowns and evening suits from her home in Curzon Avenue.
The teenager, a pupil of Beaconsfield High School, said: "I am very excited. It's different to a limosine - it's cooler. And it's taking 26 of us so there's quite a lot of us."
Friend Bex Airey, 16, said: "It's just different and everyone can be together."
Another passenger, Charly Gill, also 16, said: "It's exciting. I don't think anyone else will be going on a bus."

Thames Valley never operated the Routemaster Bus, and it was never around in 1945. A helpful spotter
