United through after penalty thriller
MARLOW United beat Hungerford Town 4-2 on penalties in their FA Cup extra Preliminary Round replay last night to set up an away tie at Beaconsfield Sycob in the next round.
Doug Buchanan converted their winning penalty after the match had finished deadlocked at 2-2 after extra time with Lewis Brown and Mark Doswell scoring in normal time of the game at Wilks Park.
After the game manager Kevin Carvell expressed his delight at the win.
He said: "We were superb tonight, never allowing Hungerford the opportunity to dictate the game.
We deserved what is probably our best ever result."
