Teachers an inspiration

A NEWLY-PUBLISHED author was inspired to write by his former schoolteachers in Prestwood.

Alvin Finch, 51, recently finished writing his first book, Cold Suspenders - described as "a tale of espionage, global warming, computer hacking and suspense".

Mr Finch, who now lives in Bracknell, said his love of reading and writing came from staff at Prestwood Junior School and Misbourne School.

He said: "I had a very good teacher at Prestwood, Mrs Matteson, who was very good at getting me to read.

"Then the English teacher at Misbourne, Mrs Kimble, quite encouraged me in my story writing. I think I read every single book they had in the library."
